Surface Preparation All surfaces must be thoroughly clean and free of all loose dirt, grease, mold, mildew and wax, surface chalk and loose or flaking paint, efflorescence and loose surface plaster. Sand smooth and dust down. Prepare surface in accordance with the requirements of the chosen system. Application Procedure And Equipment Conventional or airless spray. Stir contents thoroughly before and during use. Apply direct from the can. May be applied to dampened surfaces. Airless Spray: Should be applied using a “cross-hatch” method to produce a film build of 150 to 200 microns. This involves holding the gun approximately 600 mm from the wall and spraying an even coat horizontally across the substrate with a 50% overlap. Spraying on the next coat vertically completes application. An airless sprayer capable of applying 3.0 liters per minute at the pressure of 3300 psi through a 21 to 27 thou tip with a 3/8 inch hose fitting should be used. Similar to the Graco 695 model. A 60 mesh in-line filter can be used. DO NOT USE FINE PAINT FILTERS. Sanding: Sand to a smooth surface free of any sign of peel or texture with 180 to 220 grit sandpaper.
